James A. Holcomb, Jr. CPL/ESA is the President and Chairman of Colt Exploration Co., Inc. After serving as an outside consultant, Mr. Holcomb joined Colt in 2003 and has over 30 years of industry experience. Prior to coming to Colt, he was a partner in Corsair Energy, Inc. and was involved in all aspects of land and oversight of field operations for the drilling of horizontal wells in the Austin Chalk. Before joining Corsair, he was the Vice President of Land and Acquisition for Stroud Oil Properties, Inc. Prior to his time at Stroud, he was the Director of Acquisitions and Divestments for Quicksilver Resources Company. For 10 years prior to his time at Quicksilver, Mr. Holcomb was an Area Manager in the Corporate Development Group of Union Pacific Resources Company. Mr. Holcomb holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and began his studies in the Petroleum Land Management Program at the University of Texas at Austin.
